Creative Journey

By junior year, I was fully immersed in the craft. I began making short films, teaching myself how to shoot on my Sony A7III and edit with DaVinci Resolve. Each project taught me something new—about lighting, composition, pacing, or how to tell a story that resonates. I wasn’t just learning technical skills; I was finding my voice.

In my senior year, my work was nominated for a NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences) Student Production Award. It was a moment of recognition that validated the long hours, the self-doubt, and the passion I poured into every frame. But even with the nomination, I never felt finished. I’m always pushing to grow—to refine my editing, improve my storytelling, and explore new angles that surprise even me.

Now, as a recent high school graduate and an incoming film student at DePaul University, I’m ready to take the next step. I’m bilingual, a first-generation Mexican-American, and I carry my culture, experiences, and perspective into every film I create. Whether I’m directing, shooting, editing, or writing, I approach each project with the same mindset: stay curious, stay honest, and never stop improving.

Filmmaking isn’t just what I do—it’s how I make sense of the world. And this journey is just beginning.
